This BLT like no other was created by me years ago when I was tired of the same old thing!!! If your tired of the same old thing too, but don't want to spend a lot of time getting there, I invite you to try this for yourself.
This recipe is so easy and so good it's definitely a win win!!! If you have a large crowd to serve or you want to make a large batch ahead of time so your loved ones can make up an easy quick dinner or lunch during the week, this is would be great for you.
Tomato & Basil Topper Ingredients:
3 cups tomatoes chopped ( I like to remove the seeds and inner parts )
1/4 cup basil - chopped fine
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp. salt
3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
fresh ground pepper to taste
1-2 Tbsp. of good olive oil - flavored or plain whatever you like
* You don't want to use balsamic glaze in the actual salad because it will discolor it and make your dish visually unappealing! At the end however we will drizzle balsamic glaze over the top.
Additional Ingredients:
Sliced bread of your choice toasted with a little garlic butter brushed on before toasting if using the oven or afterwards if using a counter top toaster oven.
Lettuce ( if desired )
Mayonnaise
Fried Bacon
Balsamic Glaze
The second group of ingredients ( the additional ones ) are vague in the amounts because you need to use however much bread etc you need depending on how many sandwiches you want to make at that moment.
Combine all the Tomato & Basil Topper ingredients. Toast your bread and brush on a little garlic butter. Add lettuce and mayonnaise. Top with bacon ( cooked crispy ) and whatever amount of the Tomato mixture you want. Now just before serving drizzle balsamic glaze over the sandwich.
My family loves this sandwich and I hope yours will too!!!! As always Happy Eating !!!!!
